CFD Training Goal
The goal of the Carthage Fire Department is to provide our firefighters with the best training possible to ensure they are ready for a variety of incidents.
Training Opportunities
The Carthage Fire Department provides many opportunities for our firefighters. We train in house regularly the second and fourth Thursday of every month. Along with in house you can also gain training through state classes provided by Jefferson and Lewis County. We can also pay for firefighters to gain training through private training companies such as Take The Door Training as pictured to the left.
Training Topics
Training topics covered in trainings include everything from fire suppression to vehicle extrication, Low angle Rescue, Water Rescue, Machinery Rescue and many more. We also provide monthly CME training for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) the third Monday of every month.
